I’m a Director now…

The Association of Bridal Consultants’ April meeting was at The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe. On that occasion, I officially became one of the Directors for San Diego Region; the immediate past Co-Director, Sharon Cole, was honored with a beautiful plaque, gift certificates, and emotional speeches from ABC members.

The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe couldn’t be better for such a celebration: the sunny day and the wonderful hospitality of its staff made it a memorable event.

REVOweddings, a dream come true

REVOweddings is almost three months old but it doesn’t look that young.

I still remember that afternoon on February 10, when Suzanne Hansen of SheWanders Photography and I met with Kate Capshaw and Meaghan Schmaltz at Suzanne’s charming studio to discuss how we could join forces and raise money for our friend Peggi Walker of Metro Floral who has cancer.

REVOweddings was just a project, and only a few vendors had said yes to donations and support. Here is the list that we created that afternoon:

One week later, Meaghan designed and submitted an ad to Exquisite Weddings Magazine (they offered us a half-page free of charge). Here’s the ad – Take a look at how many more vendors confirmed their participation after only a week from our initial meeting:

A few days went by. We created a website, started a blog, exhibited at two bridal shows (at no cost, thanks to Pamela Ann Noxon of The Wedding Party Bridal Show and Betsy Winsett of Bridal Bazaar), and set up an online auction to sell items and services to brides starting on April 16.

San Diego’s wedding community started to blog about REVOweddings, became our friends on Facebook, and started to follow us on Twitter. In less than a month, REVOweddings was in full swing.

And here we are today: we have more than 100 wedding professionals who enthusiastically offered products and services to be auctioned online. The REVOweddings team is overwhelmed with joy and gratitude!
