Ceremony Magazine hosted a lovely garden party for San Diego’s best wedding planners (including La Dolce Idea!) a few months ago.
A beautiful garden-style invitation was mailed to all of us in a celadon green box: it held a small journal with the party details stamped on different pages. The invitation took me back in time, when I spent my summer vacations in Tuscany as a little girl, chasing butterflies and smelling colorful dahlias that my grandmother loved to grow in her garden.
The happy and relaxed theme of the invitation was recreated in the festive table decor at the party: a gorgeous mocha linen by A Perfect Table was embellished with pots and containers with garden flowers. Apple green cushions on the chairs matched elegant satin ribbons tied to wine bottles and favor boxes at each place setting, along with delicate rubber-stamped place cards.
We were all pampered and treated like VIPs thanks to Amy and Jim Harrick’s warm hospitality, and a sublime five-course dinner by Chef Scott of Chile Co. Catering that featured locally and organically grown produce, sustainable fishing and aquaculture, naturally raised livestock and poultry.
The evening went by very fast (too fast!): great company, a cheerful atmosphere, and fabulous pictures by Paul Barnett made it an occasion to remember. Thank you!
