What I liked about… Andrea’s Graduation Party

I had the privilege to design a graduation party for a wonderful high school student from Bishop’s School on June 1st. Her goal was to provide a memorable event to all of her 2010 class with fun, fun, fun.

The invitation (created by Pink Star Design)

Her colors were black and gold with emerald-green accents. Her dream location was a unique and classy space, and her vision included a lot of entertainment options for her guests.

The party took place at The Ultimate Skybox at Diamond View Tower, with a breathtaking view of downtown San Diego and Petco Park (we picked a baseball game night to add excitement).

The room was accented with green uplighting and laser effects, and small floral arrangements with orchids and small gold rocks softened the look. About 100 high school girls and boys were entertained with a photo booth, a caricature artist, a henna tattoo artist and an ice cream station. Green and gold signature “mocktails” were served, while a fabulous DJ and two go-go dancers (with baseball outfits) kept the crowd dancing all night.

The highlight of the event was the candy buffet I personally designed with Andrea’s colors and sweet tooth in mind. It included: rock candy, gum balls, jelly beans, licorice, mints, and chocolates in green, black and gold shades. A variety of cupcakes matching the color palette were also displayed on the station, an impressive serpentine table by kool Party Rentals (lighted in green, of course!).
