The sweetest cake flavors for 2014

When it comes to dessert I’m always very interested! According to Special Events Magazine, wedding couples are looking for different and new flavors, and I see this happening more and more among my own clients. Let’s see what the biggest trend for this year are…

Maggie Austin Cake (Alexandria, VA) –Β Ms. Austin is one of my biggest inspirations when it comes to suggesting cakes to my brides and grooms, browse her website and you will understand why. Her hand-painted designs are to die for πŸ™‚

1) White velvet cake with peach-apricot preserves and milk chocolate Earl Grey buttercream
2) Double chocolate cake with salted caramel and Irish cream buttercream
3) Pear cake with blackberry and white chocolate buttercream

1) Vanilla bean Italian cream cake filled either with apricot jam and mascarpone mousse, or chocolate and raspberry mousse
2) Toasted almond cake filled with pastry cream and apricot jam
